Construction Overview
This romper is worked top-down in one piece starting from the bib/chest, then split for leg openings.
Bib Front
Chain 30 (32, 34). Work in HDC for 6 (7, 8) rows. This creates the front chest panel.
Straps
Work 6 stitches on each end of the bib for 10 (12, 14) rows to create shoulder straps. Leave center open for the neckline.
Back Panel
Work the back panel separately, same width as front, with buttonhole plackets along the center back.
Join & Body
Join front and back at the shoulders. Work in rounds down the body for 10 (12, 14) rounds.
Leg Openings
Split work in half for each leg. Work 3 rounds of SC around each leg opening for a clean finish.
Finishing
- Sew buttons to back panel opposite buttonholes
- Add SC border around neckline and armholes
- Weave in all ends
